Are my files uploaded to a server?+
No. Trimming happens entirely inside your browser and your file is never sent anywhere.
Does trimming reduce quality?+
The default mode copies the video data as-is, so there is zero quality loss. Only 'Precise trim' re-encodes, and it uses high-quality settings when it does.
Why does it finish in seconds?+
The default mode doesn't re-encode — it copies just the selected section's data into a new file. Cutting one minute out of a 30-minute recording takes seconds.
The cut point is slightly off from what I set.+
Lossless cuts can only happen at keyframes (frames stored as complete pictures), so the default mode snaps to the nearest one — usually within 1–2 seconds. Enable 'Precise trim' for frame-exact cuts.
Can I cut both the intro and the ending?+
Yes — set both start and end, and only the section between them is kept. Exactly what intro/outro removal needs.
What format is the result?+
MP4, MOV, MKV and WebM sources keep their format; anything else is saved as widely-compatible MP4.
Does it handle long videos?+
Yes — the default mode has no re-encoding, so even long recordings trim fast. Multi-GB files can still hit browser memory limits, though.

Why trimming without re-encoding matters
Typical editors re-encode the whole video just to cut a minute out — taking minutes of processing and nibbling at quality. The default mode here copies the original data instead: done in seconds, zero quality loss.
The trade-off is cut-point precision. Lossless cutting is only possible at keyframes, so your cut may shift by up to a second or two. Flip on 'Precise trim' only when you need frame accuracy, like clips for a presentation.
